Re-Homing News

From re-homing being virtually quiet of late, what a week we have had. After Tammy went to her new home on Monday, the Howarth family came to look at our cats on Friday and had great difficulty deciding which one to choose, as we have so many lovely cats in at the moment. Eventually they picked one of Isabella's female kittens and so Ruby, as they have named her, went to her new home on Saturday. Following the successful home check for Lynx, which we mentioned earlier, he went off to join his new family on Sunday 30th October. We are sure this lovely boy will not take too long to settle into his new home. Later that same morning, the Walton family travelled from Stoke on Trent to meet Summer and introduce her to their dog Poppy. Though Summer is a lot bigger than Poppy, the two girls looked very similar. They didn’t really show much interest in one another, but they are both shy when meeting strangers. Poppy’s owners really liked Summer so she has now gone off to Stoke on Trent to be part of their family, and to date, she has settled remarkably well. We all sincerely hope that this will be a home for life for Summer. She has gone through so much in the eighteen months of her life. from living the first part in Turkey, she then went on to spend six months in quarantine and a further five months with the lady who rescued her and brought her over from Turkey. Since then she has spent six weeks in kennels with us. Good Luck Summer, you are such a beautiful girl we are sure you have the family you need now.

BREAKING NEWS - WE ARE OPENING OUR SECOND CHARITY SHOP
We are about to take on another shop as an outlet for the goods that are so kindly donated to our cause. We hope to concentrate mainly on items of furniture which will take the pressure off our Bramhall Lane shop where space is at a premium. The new shop will be on Buxton Road, Heaviley (opposite The Blossoms Public House) and we are now looking for additional staff so as not to overwork our existing, already hardworking, staff. Could you spare half a day a week? Have you any items of furniture to donate? If you can help in any way please ring Margaret on 0161 456 8515

FUND RAISING NEWS
In addition to the funds raised at Marple Carnival in June which we reported in our July newsletter, we have now received a generous donation of £100 from the Marple Carnival Committee. In August we had two fund-raising events; The Cats Protection Fun Day on 6th August at Torkington Park, where our various stalls raised; £343.85.

This was followed two weeks later on 21st August by our Summer Fair which raised a grand total of; £1,500.00 Once again the venue for this event was Blossoms Kennels & Cattery and our sincere thanks go to Phil, Deborah & Family plus all the staff at Blossoms for their help in making this event such a success.

Our penultimate event for 2011 was the combined Autumn Fair/Dog Show which took place on 2nd October and which this year - our best to date - raised a fantastic; £1,800.00 A huge thank you once again to Bramhall Cricket Club for the hire of their superb ground and facilities which all goes to make the event so successful.
